Galloway will present the opening keynote at EHS Safety Leadership NOW, a free two-day online summit hosted by EHSLeaders. His session, “Changing the Mindset Around Safety Leadership,” opens the program at 11:30 a.m. ET on Tuesday, Sept. 1.
Over the past decade, many organizations have reorganized their safety programs around preventing serious injuries and fatalities. Galloway contends this shift has not delivered the results expected of it, and that safety professionals need to reconsider how they approach safety leadership.
In the keynote, Galloway explains where the serious injury and fatality focus breaks down in practice. Galloway also covers how to build the trust and engagement those conversations depend on, and how safety leaders can give senior leadership a more accurate account of safety in the organization. That includes the ways safety information gets filtered as it moves up through management.
