Every work in the Brontë-inspired series found a collector in under two hours at Galera 32. JoCa’s second institutional solo, Invisibilis, opens in October at the Caja Real Cultural Center, followed by a first international solo during Miami Art Week on November 28, 2026.

CIUDAD DE MÉXICO, Mexico, Sep. 23, 2026 / PRZen / JoCa’s solo exhibition Echoes of Haworth opened on Thursday, September 17, in Mexico City to a full house, and before the evening was over the entire series had sold out. Every available work found a collector in less than two hours.

The exhibition was presented at Iker Ortiz’s Galera 32 in Narvarte Poniente, in collaboration with Alessandra Migliano’s Galería Errante. It was curated by Rafael Pérez y Pérez and produced by Napkin71, the art agency founded by Paulina Villarreal.

A series built from three sisters who wrote under men’s names

Echoes of Haworth takes Charlotte, Emily and Anne Brontë as its point of departure. The sisters first published as Currer, Ellis and Acton Bell, in a literary world where being known as women could stop their voices being heard.

Rather than illustrating Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre or Agnes Grey, JoCa translates their emotional landscapes into a contemporary visual language. Faces fracture and dissolve through overlapping gestures and what the artist calls visual “glitches”. Gold frames evoke the nineteenth-century world of the Brontës around images that refuse to stay contained.

A year of momentum

Earlier in 2026, JoCa presented Non Finito, a first institutional solo exhibition, at the Museo de la Ciudad de Mérida (May to August 2026), covered by Milenio and Diario de Yucatán.

Next, JoCa’s second institutional solo, Invisibilis, opens at the Caja Real Cultural Center in San Luis Potosí, running from October 2026 through January 2027. That will be followed by JoCa’s first international solo presentation, during Miami Art Week on November 28, 2026.
