Wroclaw, Dolnoslaskie Sep 8, 2026 (Issuewire.com) Silentbox is developing a new revenue model for private workspace by applying Space-as-a-Service (SPaaS) to acoustic booths. The model allows individual workspaces to be used by multiple customers throughout the day instead of being permanently allocated to one company or team.
The approach is already operating commercially at a department store in Lisbon, where Silentbox booths average 78% occupancy, generate more than 500 bookings per month and have a 4.8 out of 5 user rating.
For property and workspace operators, the model turns a small area of existing floor space into a bookable service. Customers pay for private space when they need it, while the venue can generate revenue from each use. The approach is designed for shopping centres, airports, business centres, coworking spaces and offices.
The concept extends the sharing-economy principle to private workspace: access is purchased according to demand rather than through permanent allocation or leasing. A single acoustic booth can therefore serve multiple users during the same day for calls, meetings, focused work or confidential conversations.
Silentbox Cloud provides the digital infrastructure required to operate the service, including booking, payments, access control and workspace management. The company’s investment is focused on developing the SPaaS business and expanding the network of bookable private workspaces.
The Lisbon deployment provides an early commercial reference for the model. Silentbox plans to develop the SPaaS network across European and selected international markets, focusing on locations where demand for short-term private workspace can be combined with available floor space.
The new model builds on Silentbox’s existing manufacturing business. Founded in 2019, the company has installed more than 500 acoustic booths across 30+ countries and 92 cities and is among the top three European acoustic booth manufacturers by price-performance, according to the company’s market benchmarking.
Silentbox designs and manufactures its booths in-house. Its Premium line has been laboratory-tested according to ISO 11957 and ISO 23351-1, with sound insulation of up to 35dB, depending on model and configuration. The company’s booth designs are protected by two utility-model patents and three EU registered designs.
We see an opportunity to change the economics of how private workspace is used. A booth does not have to remain assigned to one company for its entire lifetime. It can become a shared asset that generates value through repeated use, said Svyatoslav Serbin, Co-Founder of Silentbox. Our Lisbon deployment gives us a measurable commercial reference as we develop this model for other markets.
